Building History

Our building was built in 1995 by a Pentecostal denomination–The Central Assembly of God.

The next incarnation of the building has a connection to the spiritual also: an oriental rug store opened within it. Weavers leave a flaw in each rug, for perfection is the realm of God only.

Sarkis Kaltakdjian and wife Nora Keshishian operated the rug store from 1977 until 2015, when they closed it to retire. They lived on the premises for most of the time.

Devin Broome purchased the building in 2019 with a noble intention. He wanted to turn it into a community space for nonprofit use. The pandemic interfered with his plans, so he sold the building in November 2020 for Youth City Lab.
